Superior Polymer Products is a custom formulator
and manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and coatings. We are located in
the northern region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula in Calumet, a few miles
from Lake Superior.
Superior Polymer was incorporated in May of 1987 by Joe
Shaffer. After graduating from Michigan Technological University, Joe went
to work as a polymer chemist outside of Detroit. Corporate and city life
did not agree with Joe. He missed the beauty of Upper Michigan. With the
plan to start a chemical anchor business, he moved back north and begin

Instead of chemical anchors, Superior Polymer Products
initally found a demand for custom formulated
construction adhesives. Soon Superior Polymer Products started solving
the adhesive, sealant, and coating problems for varied manufacturing processes.
Several products such as the Polyflex seamless industrial
membrane, and Epiquartz seamless flooring
have developed into standardized high performance industrial and commercial
products.
