SPRAY FOAM INSULATION
The most effective system to seal, protect and insulate homes and structures.
Open-cell insulation
Closed-cell insulation
High R-Value
Air-tight seal
Increase return on investment
Reduces heating and cooling bills
Minimizes pollutants and allergens
Retains insulation rating over time
NEW HOMES
Spray foam insulation is the smart choice when building a new home.
Spray foam insulation will...
Meet and exceed building code requirements
Provide a complete air seal throughout the entire building (40% of your homes energy loss is due to air infiltration through the building envelope)
Save you 30-50% of your heating and cooling bills
Every new home we insulate includes our air seal package which consists of insulating around all windows and doors with window and door foam and caulking all areas of potential air intrusion with a siliconized acrylic caulk.
BASEMENTS
Independent studies show that 30% of heat loss can be attributed to uninsulated basements.
Insulating your basement with closed cell spray foam will create a comfortable living space and also protect it from moisture coming through the foundation walls.
RIM JOISTS
Insulating rim joists are easily accessible in unfinished basements and offer a large return on investment.
Where building codes allow, we prefer to use Sealection 500 open cell foam in rim joists because it expands 120 times it liquid volume, which allows it to get into tight areas and provide a complete air seal.
HOME RENOVATIONS
A home remodel is the perfect time to reinsulate your home. Older homes tend to have more air infiltration than newer ones today, by using spray foam insulation, all gaps and cracks in the building envelope will be sealed.
CEILING INSULATION FROM THE EXTERIOR
Replacing roofing is a common occurrence with the abundance of older homes in the Upper Peninsula. When it comes time to replace your old roofing, it may be the best opportunity for new insulation as well.
This application is popular with homes that have vaulted ceilings or finished attics where getting to the insulation would involve a costly remodel from the inside.
This method allows for two remodeling projects to be included into one, ultimately saving you money and protecting your new roofing from excessive ice damage.
CRAWL SPACE WALLS
Insulating your crawl space with spray foam insulation will keep your crawl space warm and dry without the worry of pipes freezing.
We insulate crawl space walls with closed cell foam which is a complete vapor barrier, which will not allow moisture to penetrate through the foundation walls.
For crawl spaces with moisture problems, we install a high quality visqueen on the floor. The visqueen is then sealed to the wall while we spray, we also seal all other penetrations like footings and pipes that go through the foundation floor to create a complete vapor barrier keeping your crawl space warm and dry.
Another advantage with spray foam is that it can help hold together old foundations that are slowly crumbling apart.
EXTERIOR RETROFIT
In some cases we are able to insulate houses from the outside by removing a few layers of siding and cutting a strip of sheeting away to expose the stud cavities.
This method works best when there is vinyl siding and fiberglass insulation, because both materials are easy to remove. After the insulation is removed from the walls, we then reach up and down into each cavity and fill it with open cell foam.
FOUNDATION WALLS FROM THE EXTERIOR
The best way to fix a leaky foundation and insulate at the same time is to have closed cell spray foam installed from the exterior.
This can avoid a costly remodel in the interior of the building.
When choosing this option it is best to dig down to the footings and clean the foundation to provide a clean substrate to spray against for optimal adhesion.
To protect the foam from ultraviolet light, a quality exterior latex paint should be applied.
